Sports betting At Oneida Casino Pushed Back Due To Equipment Delays
Oneida Casino is set to be the first casino in Wisconsin to offer sports betting, but the first day has been postponed due to delays with order machines.
While the casino initially hoped to start sports betting at the start of the NFL season, it now expects to start in mid-November.
Casino director Fuss said almost everyone knows, there has been a kind of global problem going on with the machines and chips you see on computers and the Oneida nation and they are also not immune to that, the CFO’s assistant sports operator Oneida National.
Back in July, Governor Tony Evers and Oneida Nation signed an agreement allowing people to bet on sporting events at the nation’s casino and elsewhere in the country. Signing authorizes sports betting for the first time in Wisconsin.
The agreement has since been approved by the provincial government, which means it will now be fully legal to allow draft sports betting, relevant sports events, including NFL and NBA matches, and all television award programs.
Fuss says the casino has been informed that the computer equipment it needs to start betting sports is currently behind, but the casino hopes it will be able to start in the next few months.
Statement By Fuss
Fuss said they are looking forward to receiving it hopefully next month and then we have time to set it up and expect it to be operational by mid-November.
The casino says it has long been facing logistical delays due to a lack of general computer chips.
Fuss also quoted that a colleague of ours told us that we were in back order and that we had experienced the same thing at Oneida Casino when we ordered the equipment again. He also said they understand what they are going through because we are experiencing the same things.
But even though the first day has been postponed, preparations for sports betting are not over. Oneida Casino will build a temporary sports betting site before moving it to the sports bar on the east side of the casino.
Fuss in his statement said they would be able to go to the person earning money to bet and go up to the grocery store and bet at the grocery store. That will be temporary. We have a sports bar on the east side of our casino and in the meantime, we will be fixing it there. Once the renovation is complete, we will be launching our sports betting event in that area.
Come on November, Fuss says the casino will be ready to offer customers a new way to play.
Finally, Fuss said they have customers who call several times a day in the past few months. Our customers are very happy about it and we are happy to offer our customers a new product.
