Colville Tribes Considers New Casino And Resort Near Azwell

Colville Tribes Casino, golf course, and concert venue are considering the construction of 100 homes are considered 640 acres across Highway 97 from Azwell, between Chelan and Pateros.

The Colville Tribal Federal Corporation operates various casinos in Manson, Omak, and Coulee Dam and it officially announced on August 6 that it had completed its first review of the site that will be known as MA-18. It will have scenic views of the Columbia River and easy access to Chelan and the rest of Okanogan County.

“The MA-18 has all the features we need when it comes to economic development,” CTFC chief executive Kary Nichols said in a statement. “After consulting with our architects, we are confident that the MA-18 could be the home of our new tourist attraction, business, and tourism destination from the north-west with our state-of-the-art casino, golf course, and concert venue.”

 

These programs also include 100 housing development sites that are located across various locations in Chelan, Pateros, and Azwell.

Nichols said that housing is scarce and increasingly variant across the region. MA-18 aims at providing adequate housing and residential facilities for the people of the society and the new MA-18 site will provide them with new innovative features and facilities.

The land is owned almost by Colville Tribes, said Tony Posey, chief executive officer of Colville Gaming LLC, in contrast to Manson’s “separate” property, with many people and organizations owning a portion of the property. Manson’s assets include Mill Bay Casino, Deepwater Amphitheater, and the newly opened RV Park.

“Separate ownership and innocence cases have made it difficult for CTFC to take full advantage of Manson’s assets,” Posey said in a statement. “IMA-18 is owned by the Colville Tribes that gives us greater flexibility and gives the Natives a greater share of the profits.”

Profits from CTFC businesses support government programs for Colville Tribes, including forest management and firefighting efforts.

“We look forward to the opportunity to bring more jobs, more housing, and more tourism to our community, and look forward to welcoming everyone into our new space,” he said.

The Colville Tribal Federal Corporation, headquartered in Omak, is a cooperative organization designed to oversee the economic development efforts of the Colville Confederated Tribes. The company currently manages two businesses – gaming and woodworking. The organization employs more than 500 people. Colville Gaming LLC is a CTFC-funded national credit company that manages Tribes casinos and their facilities, including restaurants and a hotel and spa in Omak.
