Casino Pittsburgh Celebrates 12th Anniversary
Visitors to the Pittsburgh event, the Rivers Casino football room has become a major pillar. For many, it is hard to remember when the rivers did not have a place for the event. The opening of the casino took place in August 2009.
The sewing session was the first to book a ballroom. Since then, “Big Brother,” “Shark Tank” and “Amazing Race” have all performed movie reviews for Rivers Casino ballroom. A real Pittsburgh-based show “Dance Moms” hosted the first red carpet for the third season there. Businesses host various conferences, non-conference training sessions, and annual meetings. The Women’s Professional Billiards Association even made Rivers Casino the world’s first football tournament in Pittsburgh.
More than 500 “I DO”
The Rivers Casino ballroom was quickly occupied by wedding planners and bridesmaids and remains a popular destination for brides and grooms. Notable weddings have featured the first local couple – David and Bianca Goodwin of Moon Township – who are celebrating ten years of service this year; Tony & Tina’s wedding shared dinner with theater, and Meghan and Harry’s wedding – a viewing party with a big party across the lake… and Queen Elizabeth looks like a crowd.
The square-foot-foot-ballroom balcony is a popular venue for photographers taking a Pittsburgh backyard party with a different view from the casino. The ballroom accommodates up to 350 guests in party style and 600 guests in welcoming style.
For event organizers, menu selection is as important as location selection. And there is no such thing as a homemade food culture like a 123-pound pierogi.

In 2019, Rivers Casino Pittsburgh expanded its space and launched an event center. Now, in addition to the first ballroom, an additional 25,000-square-foot hall, and a previously used venue, are located just below the hallway – creating more flexibility with a high-end event room including concerts. The Event Center accommodates up to 850 guests in party style and 2,000 guests in welcoming style.
